The sun is usually associated with joy, cheer, happiness etc. The author probably used the word sunless as a hint to the reader that all will not be well. As a bad omen.

I also think that sunless is a word to describe bad things to happen, and this is my answer to my question. =D

They brought weapons to coral cove because they wanted to protect themselves in case they need to start a battle.

They need to hide under the bushes as they were more weak than men and so, they hid under the bushes to watch what is going on instead of goign out to fight.

Karana saw her father shaking his head so he knew that his father was not pleased.

She heard cries of delight from the women because the Aluets raised the lid of the chest and it contains necklace, and there was a little light in the sky, the beads sparkled as he turned them around.

Karana told ulape she did not trust Captain Orlov because she thought that when Captain Orlov got the pelts to the ship, he may leave and not give the chests.

Captain Orlov did not want to pay after he got the otter pelts and so, they fought.

They seemed to win the battle at first until Captain Orlov came with more of his Aluets.

Captain Orlov rushed back to the boat probably is because of the wind which will blow the direction to a different desination.

It means that it is a loud sound that sounds like a flight of birds flew passed their head.

2. My own prefered answer is : they brought weapons to coral cove because they wanted to started a fight if Captain Orlov do not want to pay.

3. It is true that women are much weaker than men and have to hide under the bushes. But i think that women, can also help in some of the places like when Ulape threw a stone.

4. Karana was hiding in the bushes and could not hear what they are saying but she can se throught their actions, expressions and she saw her father shaking his head.

5. your comment for question 5 is the same answer as mine.=D

6. I prefer my own answer for question 6.Let mwe tell you why.Karana do not trust Captain Orlov because he tried to run away after taking away all the otter pelts this may be one of the reasons why Karana do not trust Captain Orlov.Your answer is always correct.

7. It is true that Captain Orlov did not wanted to pay for the otter pelts and tried to run away but failed. The Aluets started with the fight first so the villager fought back too.

8. They seemed to win the battle at first but after that,Captain Orlov rowed back with more of his Aluets.

9. Just like what you said, maybe its the wind direction controlling the direction of the boat abd when the wind began to blow,Captain Orlov start to rush to his boat.

10. My answer for this question is the same as yours.I no need to explain so much.haha.

THANKS FR COMMENTING ON MY POST!~ XDD

5. The women hide under the bushes because maybe they thought that women could not fight and thus, the men would take the weapons and leave the simpler jobs to the woman like spying.
